COLAOB 2025 aims to promote innovation and increase scientific cooperation in Latin America and between academia and companies by dealing with the subject of biomaterials, artificial organs and tissue engineering in a broad manner, analyzing opportunities and restrictions arising from policies for the sector. 

The congress has been held since 1998 with the support of the Latin American Society of Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (SLABO) and this year, in partnership with UFRJ. 

In the last edition, held in Argentina (COLAOB 2023), 69 scientific papers were presented orally and 155 in poster form, 14 plenary sessions were given by guest speakers and 1 round table, in addition to the effective participation of 300 congress participants, bringing together undergraduate and postgraduate students and professionals (professors, researchers and professionals in the field) from various Latin American countries. 

For COLAOB 2025, we are expecting around 350 participants from Brazil and abroad with different backgrounds: Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc., confirming the multi- and transdisciplinary nature of the event.
